Do I need to remove the catalytic converter myself?

Why do I need to show ID?

Texas law requires buyers to record the identity of anyone selling a catalytic converter. This is to help combat converter theft, which has become a major problem nationwide. We take this seriously — it protects honest sellers and helps keep stolen parts off the market.

What types of catalytic converters are worth the most?

Generally, larger OEM converters from trucks, SUVs, and certain foreign vehicles (Toyota, Honda, Lexus) tend to be worth more because they contain higher amounts of precious metals.
